Quite a busy week. It started off with a sick cat. We found him in the closet, laying on his side in a puddle of his own urine. The vet wanted to send him to an emergency vet for x-rays, but none of the nearby emergency vets could take him. Our vet did a urinalysis and discovered crystals forming in his bladder. After a course of meds and some special food, he’s doing much better.

The daughter picked up her new puppy this weekend. So now we have the most adorable baby pug running around the house. One of our girls is handling it better than the other one, but I’m sure they’ll come around soon.

The wife and I went to see RuPaul’s Werq The World tour on Saturday. The son bought the wife and the daughter tickets for their birthdays, but the daughter didn’t want to leave her brand new puppy. So I went. It was a lot of fun! We saw several drag queens we’d watched on RuPaul’s Drag Race.

The wife and I also went to the DC Fountain Pen Supershow this weekend. I had never been to a pen show and wanted to check one out. I was unprepared. It was enormous. Two floors of vendors with pens, ink, and other stationery items. I picked up a new pen and ink while I was there too.

  1. Is that Max? Did the vet say why this happened?

Love your new pen, but it had to be an-almost-impossible task!

    • That’s Max. He’s doing better now. He’s had bladder issues for a long time, it’s likely related to how fluffy he is. But no, they haven’t given us a reason. Prescription urinary food helps clear things up for him though.

It was VERY difficult picking out a new pen. Many of the ones I liked were ridiculously expensive … $200-400. I just can’t spend that much for a pen. This one was over $100, but it’s an early birthday present and helps a small business. 🙂

    • I love it! Mine is our coffee bean jar, but it’s so pretty and then you get to see what the pattern is when you look closely. 🙂
