2023 Project 52 – 30/52

We left Cambria and spent the night in Sonoma with the brother-in-law before we continued up north.

Our next stop for a couple days was Chico. This is where the wife and I met. This is where our daughter was born. We had dinner with a friend. We walked the campus. We walked through Bidwell Park. We visited lots of old haunts. It was a wonderful time.

We continued north into Oregon, stopping in Ashland for lunch before reaching Eugene to see our son! He moved out west back in March and this was our first time seeing him since then. He took us to Florence and to the beach. He took us to the UofO campus to walk around. He took us to the rose garden along the river. He took us to voodoo donuts! We also had dinner with friends. What a great little town.

Then we took the son with us to Portland to spend a few days. We first had dinner with the godson and his girlfriend. We of course visited Powell’s City of Books. We also saw the Grotto, Rocky Butte park to see Mount Hood, Mount St. Helens, and Mount Ranier. The next day we visited Multnomah Falls and Cascade Falls in the Columbia River Gorge. It was gorge … ous. **giggle** Then we drove back on the Washington State side of the river.

And that was the end of the week! Stay tuned for the final bit of the trip in the week 31 post!
