2023 Project 52 – 14/52

The wife was home for her spring break all week. So we did lots of walking and exploring of our new home after I got home from work. We also spent my day off this week working on the room that will be the library. Still some work to do, but progress is progress.

The old house is finally on the market and had an open house this weekend. We’ve had good turnout for both the open house and other showings over the weekend.

We found the very first marker stone when they were laying out the original diamond for Washington DC. Alexandria and Arlington were part of the district originally and then returned to Virginia in the mid-1800s. The surveyors started with the southern marker stone which is now a fairly short walk from our new house.

The wife and I had Easter brunch at our favorite French restaurant, Bastille. And we were able to walk there; which was great because we walked off the food on our way home. Spring in Alexandria is beautiful.
