My wife decided to become vegan about three years ago. My daughter had been vegetarian for most of her life at that point and decided to go full vegan shortly after my wife. Since that time, I’ve certainly changed my eating habits … mostly for the better. I basically have tried to eat less meat and more plant-based foods. I only have meat about once or twice per week now, limit my cheese, and use strictly plant-based milks (mostly). I heard Pete Holmes describe himself as “Flegan” … or a “flexible vegan”. He didn’t want to limit himself, but did want to make the commitment to eat better. This resonated with me big time.
All-in-all, it’s been a pretty easy journey; probably because I don’t completely limit myself. I’ve learned a lot about nutrition. I’ve found some great new foods that I enjoy. And we’ve discovered some fun new restaurants. I’m not sure if I’ll ever go completely vegan … we’ll see.
The real point of this post though was to share a funny video about a guy doing a month-long vegan challenge, not to bore you with my eating habits. The video is over 20 minutes, but so worth it!
