That title is supposedly Gaelic for “home.”
I had always known that my paternal grandfather’s family came from Scotland to Canada to the United States. But recently my aunt dug up more research about my great-great-grandmother. She was a McLeod from Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. She married a MacDonald either before or after emigrating to Canada.
So I started doing a little research into Stornoway since admittedly I have little to no knowledge of the Outer Hebrides (other than they’re a group of islands off the Scottish coast). I found this little video of drone shots of the Isle of Lewis and it looks amazing!
It looks a wee bit tidy now, don’t it?
