First and foremost, this is my 100th post in the 100 days to offload challenge. I looked back at the first post which was dated April 2021. However, I had actually migrated all those posts from another site I was using, so it was probably actually late 2020 that I started. Yikes that’s a long time to write 100 posts.

I finished (re)reading “The Bullet Journal Method” by Ryder Carroll. I’ve been feeling a little scattered between the various places I get input (email, project management apps, etc.) that I’m trying to put a better system into place with my notebook. I’ve carried a notebook for years and have tried various things. Some work better than others. So I figured I would re-read the basic system and go back to simple. We’ll see how it goes.

We had a cat “scare” this week. The daughter brought home a stray. Well, specifically it followed her home and spent two days outside our door wanting to come in. We already have three dogs and two cats (that don’t get along well with each other); I wasn’t about to add another random cat to the mix. It was very sweet, but not going to happen. Then it disappeared. Turns out somebody else in the neighborhood was also feeding it and took it to the shelter. Problem solved.

My back has been bothering me for the past few weeks. So I’ve been moving a little slower and been spending a lot of time with a heating pad. It all started with COVID and laying up for over a week. Then lack of movement for the next couple weeks hasn’t helped. It’s already feeling a little better towards the end of the week, but will be a while before I’m full speed.

The wife and I went to the farmer’s market in Alexandria with the dogs this weekend. The weather was perfect for the wife to put the top down on the convertible. Rubi loves sticking her head out a window normally. She was having a blast sitting in the front with me and watching the world go by. We also cleaned out our storage room again. Tends to have to happen every few months as junk compiles.

The daughter and I brought Rubi and Birdie (her pug puppy) down to the community pool today (Sunday). The hour after the pool closes for the season, they have a puppy plunge. We’ve never gone because our dogs aren’t huge on the water. But we decided to see if Birdie was interested and I’ve been trying to socialize Rubi with other dogs more. They both swam, but didn’t enjoy it. But they were champs with the other dogs. A great event that the community holds.

I made tater tot palak keema for dinner tonight. It’s a delicious take on an Indian recipe we found somewhere. Ground “meat” with spinach, tomatoes, spices, and topped with tater tots before baking. Omnomnom.
